Mobile Phones Are Dirtier Than Toilet Seats
Updated: Sep 29, 2021
Our phones may be one of the filthiest things we own, research suggests.
Our constant use and carry of our mobile devices may be responsible for making them 10x dirtier than your average toilet seat.
They can carry harmful microbes and even fecal matter!
The main reason our phones are so dirty is because we are on them constantly and they are on our person throughout the day.
The average person touches their mobile phone 80 times per day!
Unless you’re constantly washing your hands, any germs on your hands transfer to your phone. The same goes for wherever you set your phone down, including in the bathroom.
On top of that, our cell phones are often warm which makes them a perfect breeding ground for dangerous microbes.
One study found over 7,000 types of bacteria in their sample of 52 cell phones. Many of the microbes found are not considered harmful. The harmful bacteria found includes; E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Influenza, Clostridium difficile and Streptococcus.
Knowing that mobile phones are a petri dish for microbes to breed, it’s important that we keep them clean.
Most experts agree that cell phones should be cleaned once per day.
Everest Microbial Defense™ has a mobile phone cleaning kit that offers so much more than a one time clean.
