4 Summer Cleaning Tips
Updated: Apr 19, 2023
It’s officially summer! With all of the joys summer brings such as sunshine and heat, come some added cleaning challenges. Summer elements such as heat, humidity and mold can require a change to your usual cleaning routine. Here are 4 cleaning tips to manage those extra summer elements:
1. FIGHT GARBAGE ODORS
Higher temperatures and humidity during the summer cultivates bacteria growth. Trash can smell EXTRA stinky in the summer because of this. Fight the extra odor by sprinkling baking soda into the bottom of your trash bags and trash cans.
2. PICK UP THE DUSTING
Increased household traffic, open windows and all of that beautiful summer sunlight coming through your windows can magnify dust in your home during the summer. Dusting more frequently throughout the summer will help keep the dust down.
3. FIX WATER RINGS
Summer ice cold beverages can sweat and leave a dreaded water ring stain on your favorite piece of furniture. To remedy this, place cotton fabric over the ring stain. Then grab an iron making sure the water from the iron is removed. Heat up the iron and then place the iron on top of the cotton fabric for a few seconds. If the ring hasn’t disappeared yet put the iron back over the fabric for a few more seconds and repeat until the stain is gone. You can also try removing water stains by blow-drying the stain on the high setting until it fades.
4. PREVENT MOLD AND MILDEW GROWTH
Mold and mildew growth is accelerated in the summer due to the extra heat and humidity. Because mold and mildew can create serious health issues and property damage, it’s important to prevent the growth altogether. Start by making sure your home is well ventilated and has no leaks. After cleaning mold and mildew prone areas, protect the area with EV360 Antimicrobial Protectant Spray. It protects against fungus, mold, and mildew for up to 90 days with just ONE application!
ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!
